{"id":10140,"date":"2022-10-24T04:40:00","date_gmt":"2022-10-24T04:40:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/onecitizendaily.com\/?p=10140"},"modified":"2022-10-23T18:59:08","modified_gmt":"2022-10-23T18:59:08","slug":"administrators-cautioned-against-dismissing-civil-servants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/index.php\/2022\/10\/24\/administrators-cautioned-against-dismissing-civil-servants\/","title":{"rendered":"Administrators cautioned against dismissing civil servants"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By Akol Madut Ngong<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Ministry of Public Service and Human Resource Development has cautioned administrators and Director Generals in public offices against un-procedural dismissal of civil servants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Minister of Public Service and Human Resource Development Joseph Bangasi Bakosoro warned administrators and DGs in all the institutions not to dismiss any single civil servant without due legal process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He made the warning over the weekend during the closure of financial management reform workshop organized by the Ministry of Public Service in collaboration with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI think the secular is gone because you are at risk from this position, those who do not know who could dismiss and when to be dismissed,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYou are not supposed to be dismissed, you are supposed to be disciplined so you are just like a child in the house who committed a crime or just broke a glass and immediately you fired him\/her to where? And that is your child, where do you take this child? This is your child, you just give him something to improve and this is how you should be treated,\u201d he lamented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The public service minister said he\u2019s sending circular to every institution that should be known to everybody so that nobody is victimized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bakosoro stated that this time, he\u2019s going to mention the names of those individuals who were dismissed by order and reappointed by order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYou don\u2019t appoint a civil servant by a certain order, that person is promoted, you are supposed to be promoted to the next level, unless it reaches a certain level, political level, you can be appointed,\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSo I\u2019m advising that you do your work diligently, we are fighting your part but when one person fights with thousands of people then you will be defeated but for me, it\u2019s better die alone for you than thousands of people to die for me\u201d.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Akol Madut Ngong The National Ministry of Public Service and Human Resource Development has cautioned administrators and Director Generals in public offices against un-procedural dismissal of civil servants.
