The Presidential Advisor for National Security Affairs Tut Gatluak Manime yesterday said the Juba Peace Agreement signed between the Sudan interim government and coalition of opposition movements present the best opportunity for resolving conflicts in neighboring Sudan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Manime described the Juba agreement as a significant step towards ending conflicts in Darfur, South Kordofan and Blue Nile regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Juba Peace Agreement was signed on October 3, 2020 by Sudan\u2019s transitional government and many of the Country\u2019s main warring factions in the South Sudan capital Juba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The agreement, which is extremely multifaceted, shelters variety of areas, including governance, security and transitional Justice and is envisioned to enlighten the upcoming constitutional negotiation process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat was a historic agreement. It was a step in the right direction. There is nothing wrong with it.\u201d He said \u201cit has been incorporated into the constitution and brought the signatories, especially the armed movement, into the transitional government,\u201d Manime was quoted in some media reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kiir\u2019s advisor stated that the agreement is now guiding the Country until elections are held.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He however further recognized the sluggish implementation of the Juba Peace Agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Manime stressed that the accord remains one of the legal bases for the participation of some political forces in the administration and management of the country\u2019s political affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He expressed optimism that the peace agreement would fully be implemented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Juba Peace Agreement was signed on 3, October 2020 and was hailed as significant step towards ending turbulence in conflict affected states including Darfur, South Kordofan and Blue Nile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The agreement has been incorporated into the constitution and will bring the signatory armed movement into the transitional government until elections are held.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
