President Salva Kiir has donated fifteen Million South Sudanese pounds and one land cruiser car to the new Bishopric of Torit catholic diocese as well as promised to render additional support to the diocese in a due cost of time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This development transpired during the commemoration of hundred years of faith in Torit marking the unification of the congregants following the numerous sufferings of the faithful through bloodshed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The major aim of the donation was to ensure that the Catholic Diocese of Torit through the new Bishop easily facilitates easy movement as well as run the activities of the Church to its best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking on behalf of the President on Sunday, Dr. Barnaba Marial Benjamin, the Minister of Presidential Affairs said President Kiir appreciated the people of Torit for having participated fully in the liberation struggle and promised to restore peace despite the on-going challenges that impedes the highways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He pointed out that people should abstain from revenge and focus much on activities that could plant peace and unity as the government works towards bringing eternal peace to the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPresident Salva Kiir is donating fifteen Million South Sudanese pounds and six doors land cruiser to support the activities of the new Bishop. He said I should tell you that peace has come and everybody should know that government is working towards bringing everlasting peace to the Country\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, Dr. Barnaba conveyed President Kiir\u2019s apologies for having failed to turn up for the occasion due to national duties that kept him busy always but promised to pay a special visit to the people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe President said that it is important that he should have been here because you have proven to be a capital of two things, liberation struggle and also strong faith for nearly a hundred years,\u201d he said. \u201cThis is a great event. I would also like to stress that the centenary celebrating through determination is holding faith with the strongest leadership. Our cardinal was telling us that faith and Christianity bring love, forgiveness and reorganizing the society\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On his part, Louis Lobong Lojore, the Governor of Eastern Equatoria State said that the faithful were not happy amid failure of the President\u2019s arrival following their high expectation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said that the President would have turned up for the celebration despite the commitment he has in the office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governor Lobong however welcomed the President\u2019s apologies following the arrival of his representative in the state and urged him to immediately choose a day to come for the procrastinated visit.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
