{"id":12912,"date":"2023-04-14T05:36:00","date_gmt":"2023-04-14T05:36:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/onecitizendaily.com\/?p=12912"},"modified":"2023-04-13T19:20:12","modified_gmt":"2023-04-13T19:20:12","slug":"police-holds-suspect-accused-of-killing-wife-in-aweil","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/index.php\/2023\/04\/14\/police-holds-suspect-accused-of-killing-wife-in-aweil\/","title":{"rendered":"Police holds suspect accused of killing wife in Aweil"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By Hou Akot Hou<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police authorities are holding a 30-year-old man accused of having stabbed his wife to death on Tuesday in Aweil East County of Northern Bahr el Ghazal state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Northern Bahr el Ghazal police spokesperson, Captain Guot Guot Akol told journalists in Aweil Thursday that the suspect got apprehended yesterday from Mangok payam in Aweil East County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The accused allegedly got his wife lying outside her compound at night and mounted on her by stabbing her several times with a knife.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Guot said the woman died immediately at the scene, unfortunately leaving behind a one-year-old baby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt was late 10:00 PM in the night at Mangar-Amol in Mangok payam in Aweil East County when the incident occurred. The man came and found his wife and stabbed her 18 times and she died immediately\u201d Guot told media. Adding \u201che (suspect) got apprehended and now he is in the police custody,\u201d said Guot<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police spokesperson said investigation are still on going to ascertain why the man killed his beloved wife.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a similar incident, a 50-year-old man on Tuesday this week in Aweil South County, also stabbed his brother to death in Aweil South County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said the accused is caught and police are stationed in the area to control the vice following the death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Guot blamed the two incidents on drunkenness and high cost of living which is making people get wild.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSome people drink star-Gin which is whisky and when they get into discussion they simply go wild.
