The former minister of Interior, Paul Mayom Akech, bitterly denied authoring a \u2018strange\u2019 document that mooted for the removal of the national minister of Information over \u2018reckless\u2019 comments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A 5-page-long letter dated April 16, 2023 and titled \u2018Political Betrayals and Disguise: A Case Against Michael Makuei Lueth (Part 1 of 3) circulated on social media bearing Mayom\u2019s alleged signature and name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The statement puts Makuei on the spotlight over what it described as his continued \u2018wild\u2019 comments that place the country in tight diplomatic spots not once but several times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Former interior minister Mayom told this outlet that, the letter is \u2018concocted\u2019 and \u2018untrue\u2019, adding that he has not written any paper against Micheal Makuei Lueth, the minister of Information and government spokesperson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is absolutely a fabrication. It has nothing to do with me,\u201d ex-minister of Interior said in short text message.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The document is copied to Peter Lam Both, the SPLM Secretary-General, Presidential Advisors, Benjamin Bol Mel and Tut Gatluak Manime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It severely protested Makuei\u2019s behavior and alleged irresponsible previous remarks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The alien statement stated that, Makuei\u2019s contradictory statement has \u2018shamelessly\u2019 placed the government in an awkward position resulting in \u2018undesirable consequences.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The strange letter cited examples, for instance, the information minister\u2019s \u2018white rebel\u2019 remark in 2017 when an American journalist, Christopher Allen was killed in clashes between the government and opposition forces under Dr. Riek Machar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It claimed that the remark by the government spokesman put South Sudan in diplomatic jitters with the United States of America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It also described it as \u2018the lowest moment\u2019 in the diplomatic relation with western governments that resulted into more sanctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The letter further accused government spokesman of public incitement, citing an example when Makuei said, \u201cwe [government] don\u2019t have teargas\/rubber bullets. But we have live bullets should you dare to try to go for protest.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to bizarre memo, such statements instill fear in the hearts of the citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It argued that Makuei is trying to incite South Sudanese public against the government by creating destructive factionalism and unacceptable culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
