{"id":13068,"date":"2023-04-26T04:32:00","date_gmt":"2023-04-26T04:32:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/onecitizendaily.com\/?p=13068"},"modified":"2023-04-25T19:34:35","modified_gmt":"2023-04-25T19:34:35","slug":"unity-mayom-flood-affected-residents-receive-food-aid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/index.php\/2023\/04\/26\/unity-mayom-flood-affected-residents-receive-food-aid\/","title":{"rendered":"Unity: Mayom flood-affected residents receive food aid"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By Emelda Siama John Lopula<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authorities in Mayom county of Unity State have distributed food item to eleven payams and Mayom town residents as part of a wider commitment of the state government to alleviate flood affected communities from poverty and hunger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking to No.1 Citizen Daily Newspaper on phone yesterday, the press secretary in the office of Unity state governor, Peter Bakueny said the state government distributed food items on Friday in Mayom County to fight hunger because most people who were affected by floods are facing serious food insecurity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe state government is working hard to make sure that all these IDPs have food items; we have<strong> polish<\/strong> with Manyidit, Guit, Rubkona, and Mayom County last week, and all the IDPs in Unity state have received food items with exception of Panyijar County due to poor accessibility of road connectivity,\u201d Bakueny said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe governor will either travel to Panyijar by the water or he will come to Juba and travel through the road via Ural because there is a connecting route from Ural to Panyijar to distribute food items as well, and all the residents were happy for what they have received,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Manytuil\u2019s mouthpiece hinted that for last two months they have roads accessibility issue but now they have reclaimed the road that link up the six counties, from Bentiu, to Guit, Koch, Mayindit and Leer counties and from Bentiu to Mayom County, also a road that connects Rubkona to Kikang County are rehabilitated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe government appreciated the communities for being patient in all the difficulties and the challenges that they pass through. they have been leaving in water with their properties but they managed to stay,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Emelda Siama John Lopula Authorities in Mayom county of Unity State have distributed food item to eleven payams and Mayom town residents as part of a wider commitment of the state government to alleviate flood affected communities from poverty and hunger.
