{"id":13270,"date":"2023-05-04T15:04:58","date_gmt":"2023-05-04T15:04:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/onecitizendaily.com\/?p=13270"},"modified":"2023-05-04T15:05:01","modified_gmt":"2023-05-04T15:05:01","slug":"over-400-south-sudanese-return-home-in-rubkona-county","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/index.php\/2023\/05\/04\/over-400-south-sudanese-return-home-in-rubkona-county\/","title":{"rendered":"Over 400 South Sudanese return home in Rubkona County"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By Yien Gattour<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>At least 441 South Sudanese and ten Sudanese new arrivals fleeing conflict in Sudan have arrived Rubkona County in Unity state<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rubkona County Relief and Recommendations Commission (RRC) Coordinator, William Bakuony revealed to the media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bakuony said that a government delegation was in Riokrial over the weekend to assess the number of new arrivals of both the South Sudanese returnees and Sudanese refugees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe went on Sunday and buses came with new arrivals of 441 South Sudanese individuals from 221 households.&nbsp; They are stationed at Riokrial,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Bakuony, though the team didn\u2019t establish an accurate statistics, 10 Sudanese refugees were reported among the new arrivals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;\u201cWe asked for the number of the Sudanese and they told us that they are ten people we didn\u2019t count them but we are going to set up a team to get the accurate number that are coming very days\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;\u201cThe Rubkona County authority is going to find out the accurate number because new arrivals are still coming on daily basis. When we went there we got a lot of people and children were crying and the number is huge. The organizations (aid agencies) held meetings with us and they promised to be delivering the food assistance immediately,\u201d Bakuony lamented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said \u201cthe South Sudanese will trace their families and be in Riokrial their original families\u201d Bakuony said<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bakuony said humanitarian organizations were working to ensure delivery of supplies such as the non-food items and the foodstuffs to the people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>No.1 citizen Daily Newspaper<\/em> talked to Mrs. Rebecca Nyahok Chuol, one of the returnees, who appealed for assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;\u201cWe are appealing for Humanitarian assistance. We came here as a result of fighting that escalated from Sudan. We don&#8217;t have any shelter, water, and food \u201cNyahok cried.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another returnee, Mr. Gattuak Gatluak said \u201cthe fighting in Sudan has affected us indeed as South Sudanese.
