Ministry of Investment and Center for Country Wide Investments (CWI) organization<\/b>\u00a0have signed a memorandum of understanding to boost the country\u2019s investment sector through global conferences.<\/strong><\/p>\n The major aim of the deal is to promote South Sudan globally such that foreign investors develop the will to come and execute investment projects to foster economic growth and development.<\/p>\n According to the deal, the organization shall be a light- giver for South Sudan through the ministry of investment with focus on winning projects through global conferences and summits.<\/p>\n During the signing ceremony, minister of investment, Dhieu Mathok Ding said the center, through the memorandum signed, would assist the government in executing its investment policies and activities to ease the generation of revenues to support South Sudan.<\/p>\n He stated that as the ministry prepares to conduct an investment conference in November, they, with partners will be working together to execute major elements, particularly the investment act that awaits presentation before the August House.<\/p>\n \u201cMany events and activities outlined in our policy for deliberation were the amendment of the investment act 2009 and that the draft policy which will be tabled before the parliament to be enacted as a law. The document specifies our tasks, functions and responsibilities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Dhieu noted that the ministry tried marketing its activities to excel through the media, adding that the memorandum signed with their partner would simplify the process for its success.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have made media campaigns for the ministry to be known concerning the opportunities to be known by the investors and we have done it. Currently we are working with UNDP in order to create resources which are part of what we signed today,\u2019\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Center for Country Wide Investments (CWI) representative, Clara Marial Benjamin confirmed their readiness to jointly work with the ministry in promoting their activities through the policies.<\/p>\n She said that the global investment summits by CWI will open an opportunity for South Sudan to drive an investment forum to foster economic growth and a positive investment environment in South Sudan.<\/p>\n \u201cThe South Sudan investment summit will play a tremendous role in showcasing opportunities that the country offers across multiple sectors such as infrastructure, agriculture, energy, mining and telecommunication and, in future, tourism,\u2019\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n She said that they will continue working with the government in exchanging innovative ideas for fruitful policy to drive investment and transform South Sudan’s economic landscape.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" By Bida Elly David Ministry of Investment and Center for Country Wide Investments (CWI) organization\u00a0have signed a memorandum of understanding to boost the country\u2019s investment sector through global conferences.
