At least 8000 returnees in Riokiah Rubkona County of Unity State are facing a severe lack of drinking water shortage after fleeing conflict in Sudan since the beginning of May.<\/strong><\/p>\n Mary Nyaweat, a resident of Riokiah Payam Rubkona County, told No. 1\u00a0Citizen Daily Newspaper on Monday that they have spent nearly a week without clean drinking\u201d she lamented.<\/p>\n Appealing to aid agencies and the government to intervene, Nyaweat said that besides the lack of water, the returnees also do not have money.<\/p>\n Meanwhile,\u00a0Veronica Nyruai Kuony, another returnee disclosed that due to a lack of clean water, the people have resorted to drinking dirty water from the swamp, which causes many to fall sick,<\/p>\n Rubkona RRC\u00a0Radio communication officer, Stephen Wichm said the county in partnership with Greater Pioneer Operating Company (GPOC), is working to supply water to the returnees to address the crises.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are appealing to GPOC to continue supplying water\u00a0to returnees and to all our population\u00a0in the params on a daily basis to get a better life,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" By Yien Gattour At least 8000 returnees in Riokiah Rubkona County of Unity State are facing a severe lack of drinking water shortage after fleeing conflict in Sudan since the beginning of May.
