South Sudanese Student\u2019s Association in Malaysian Universities has urged leaders in the country to embrace the spirit of peaceful coexistence and unity.<\/strong><\/p>\n The students made the appeal in Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, ahead of South Sudan\u2019s 12th<\/sup> Independence anniversary.<\/p>\n The event in Kuala Lumpur was marked under the theme “United in a common course towards Technology and economic freedom”.<\/p>\n Speaking to No. 1 Citizen Daily Newspaper<\/em><\/strong> from Lumpur, David Deng Bol, the President of the Association, said it is time to reflect on the sacrifices made by the liberators for 21 years.<\/p>\n Mr. Deng revealed that they will be joined by Malaysian institutional leaders, religious leaders, and Diplomats in commemorate the day.<\/p>\n “We have invited institutional leaders in Malaysia and other stakeholder groups to celebrate the day with us,\u2019\u2019 he added.<\/p>\n The student leader also noted that the acting Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Deng Dau Deng, is expected to be their guest of honor.<\/p>\n South Sudan gained independence from Sudan on July 9, 2011, as the outcome of a referendum vote in session following the 2005 comprehensive peace agreement that ended Africa’s longest-running civil war.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" By Jurugo Emmanuel Ogasto South Sudanese Student\u2019s Association in Malaysian Universities has urged leaders in the country to embrace the spirit of peaceful coexistence and unity.
