{"id":15848,"date":"2023-07-14T11:09:31","date_gmt":"2023-07-14T11:09:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/onecitizendaily.com\/?p=15848"},"modified":"2023-07-14T11:09:31","modified_gmt":"2023-07-14T11:09:31","slug":"eastern-equatoria-leads-in-s-4-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/index.php\/2023\/07\/14\/eastern-equatoria-leads-in-s-4-results\/","title":{"rendered":"Eastern Equatoria leads in S.4 results"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Bida Elly David<\/p>\n<p><strong>National Examination Council announced 2022\u20132023 Certificate of Secondary Education examination results, with Eastern Equatoria emerging as the top-performing state in the Country.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At least 1,887 of those who sat the exams in Eastern Equatoria State passed representing 74.8 percent; Central Equatoria State follows with 74.3 percent and Ruweng Administrative Area, in the last position.<\/p>\n<p>Among 36,105 students sat for the examinations, about 23,300 were males and 12,805 females, from 398 academic schools.<\/p>\n<p>Tako Martin, the acting minister of general education and instructions and chair of the examination council, said the CSE examination was conducted from March 20<sup>th<\/sup> to\u00a0March 31st, this year.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of performance comparison, the pass rate for this year\u2019s examination is 95.3%, representing a 3.1% increase from that of 2021 with 92.2 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the performance index by schools, Juba Diocesan Model Secondary School of Central Equatoria State takes the lead with 85.8% out of 134 candidates who all passed.<\/p>\n<p>The results further showed Chemistry and Biology, were the best-performed subjects for the science section, while Commerce and Principles of Accounting were the best-performed arts subjects.<\/p>\n<p>However, English Literature and Arabic were the worst-performed subjects, according to the results.<\/p>\n<p>In the performance index for the overall best candidate, Peter Reng Bak Noon from Promise College Secondary School in Western Bahr-Al-Ghazal State emerged as the top candidate with 92.1%.<\/p>\n<p>Darling Wisdom Academy Secondary School (B) took the lead in female performance matrix with two students, Amama Agnes Oswaha and Regina Lamanya Solomon, topping the science section.<\/p>\n<p>Minister Tako said the results index projected private schools as dominant in the 2022\u20132023 certificates of secondary education examination compared to public schools.<\/p>\n<p>Tako reiterated the need for public schools to invest many efforts toward performance by committing students to learning.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the declared results, no public school has appeared on the competitive list of the best-performing schools.<\/p>\n<p>The report did not segment the overall performance comparison between the male and female students.<\/p>\n<p>The minister, however, warned citizens against the tendency of complaining over discrimination in state performance, noting that the marking of the papers was done without specification.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You have seen a lot of top secondary schools from Central Equatoria State; this does not mean that all these best candidates are from this State,\u2019\u2019 Tako clarified.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the schools are in Central Equatoria, but the candidates are South Sudanese.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Bida Elly David National Examination Council announced 2022\u20132023 Certificate of Secondary Education examination results, with Eastern Equatoria emerging as the top-performing state in the Country.
