At least four people were killed, and five others injured in a cattle raid in Uror County in Jonglei State yesterday, authorities said.<\/p>\n
Speaking to No. 1 Citizen Daily Newspaper, Machot Gatluak Kenyjak, said about 700 head of cattle were also stolen during the raid.<\/p>\n
\u201cThose killed include a woman and her baby, a young lady and an elderly man,\u201d he said. \u201cFive other people were also injured while more than 700 cows were stolen during the night raid on Padiek Payam.\u201d<\/p>\n
The local official condemned the attack and said attempts by local youth to have the stolen animals recovered were futile.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur local youth tried to recover the stolen cattle but they failed. So the attackers went away withal the stolen animals,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Cattle raiding in parts of the country has been a source of insecurity to the health and well-being of communities.<\/p>\n
