{"id":17053,"date":"2023-08-22T12:33:24","date_gmt":"2023-08-22T12:33:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/onecitizendaily.com\/?p=17053"},"modified":"2023-08-22T12:33:24","modified_gmt":"2023-08-22T12:33:24","slug":"south-sudan-summons-34-players-for-afcon-qualifiers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/index.php\/2023\/08\/22\/south-sudan-summons-34-players-for-afcon-qualifiers\/","title":{"rendered":"South Sudan summons 34 players for AFCON qualifiers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Gladys Fred Kole<\/p>\n<p>South Sudan senior men&#8217;s football team, the Bright Stars, head coach Stefano Cusin, has summoned a provisional squad of thirty-four (34) players for the upcoming AFCON qualifier match in Bamako, Mali.<\/p>\n<p>This was disclosed by the South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) in a post on its Facebook page, as seen by this outlet yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Bright Stars head coach yesterday released his provisional 34-man squad list for the upcoming AFCON qualifier match with Mali.<\/p>\n<p>The competition is scheduled for next month to be played in Bamako Stadium, Mali.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, coach Stefano stated that the team will also be having a friendly match with Kenya on the 12th of September in Nairobi.<\/p>\n<p>The disclosed 34-man squad for the AFCON contender\u2019s group stage match against Mali next month includes:<\/p>\n<p>Majak Mawith (GK): Dandenong Thunder (Australia-based), Ramadan John (GK) &#8211; Malakia (Juba), Khamis Daniel (GK) &#8211; Atlabara (Juba), Anyama Joseph Luka (GK) &#8211; Arua Hill SC (Uganda), Lazarus Peter &#8211; Future Stars Academy (Juba), Wani Ivan Adebo &#8211; Bull Fc (Uganda), Peter Maker Manyang &#8211; Radnicki Srem (Serbia), Rashid<\/p>\n<p>Others are: Ayom Majok \u2013 Brisbane Roar FC (Australia), Chol Peter \u2013 Al Naser FC (Sudan), Joseph Malesh \u2013 Al Mereikh (Sudan), Nevello Yoseke \u2013 Monterey Bay FC (USA), Atendeke Gerica \u2013 Arua Hill (Uganda), Ajak Riak \u2013 Bentleigh (Australia), Omot Sebit \u2013 Al Merreikh Juba (Juba), Ochaywak \u2013 Simba FC ( Juba), \u00a0Mario Taban \u2013 Future Stars Academy ( Juba), \u00a0Paul America \u2013 Rainbow FC (Ken), Rwothomio Innocent \u2013 Bul (Uganda), Ngong Madur KCCA (Uganda), Wani Shadrack Elisana \u2013 Malakia FC ( Juba), \u00a0Innocent Ronald Lucera Calcio (Italie), Ismael Remo Sampuli Mansuk \u2013Ray of Grace (Ugandad \u2013 Future Stars Academy (Juba),<\/p>\n<p>This assortment consisted of nine players playing in South Sudan&#8217;s local leagues, nine recalled from Uganda, three from Kenya and Australia, and others from different countries, including Italy, Canada, the USA, Serbia, and Malta.<\/p>\n<p>Mali, which is set to host South Sudan, sits at the top of Group G.<\/p>\n<p>However, South Sudan has already been confirmed out of the continental tournament, sitting at the bottom of group G with only three points from their last five games.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Gladys Fred Kole South Sudan senior men&#8217;s football team, the Bright Stars, head coach Stefano Cusin, has summoned a provisional squad of thirty-four (34) players for the upcoming AFCON qualifier match in Bamako, Mali.
