Episcopal Church of South Sudan (ECSS) appointed a new Vice-Chancellor for Bishop Gwynne College in Juba and launched a new School of Law, on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
The school of law is the latest faculty added at the ECSS-founded institution.<\/p>\n
Other faculties are Theology, School of Education in Kajo Keji, School of Business Studies at St. John in Wau and Chayma College in Maridi and Reng in Upper Nile State.<\/p>\n
The event was officiated by the ECSS Archbishop Justin Badi Arama, who is also the Chancellor of the University.<\/p>\n
Archbishop announced that the law school will award diploma and degree certificates to successful students through competent university staff.<\/p>\n
He said plans are underway to establish the main campus in Rokon.<\/p>\n
The new Vice Chancellor, Dr. Eva Maria John hopes to provide scholarships to more students and build a university of high international standards with a strong Christian character that helps build peace through education.<\/p>\n
She said the university aims to provide young people with skills to contribute to the nation’s building and learning to live together.<\/p>\n
Richard Riny Nyikuany, a student in the first batch of the School of Law, expressed gratitude and hopes to become a God-fearing judge to serve the community after graduating.<\/p>\n
Currently, 691 students have enrolled in the various faculties of courses offered by the institution.<\/p>\n
The University was officially accredited in October last year as the Episcopal University of South Sudan.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
