Police in Nyamlel of Aweil West County, Northern Bahr El Ghazal State, are detaining a 22-year-old, lady for dumping her 8-month fetus into a pit latrine.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n The suspect, identified as Angic Wei Atak, is accused of having aborted the 8-month fetus and decided to dump it into a latrine.<\/p>\n Lt. Colonel Agany Garang, the police investigator in Nyamlel town, told journalists that the woman was found bleeding profusely by her parents.<\/p>\n Agany warns the public against taking such a nasty decision about abortion.<\/p>\n \u201cI want to tell the public that if a woman experiences an unwanted pregnancy, never think of aborting it,\u201d he cautioned ladies.<\/p>\n The officer further warned that the act of abortion is a grave sin that could lead to untimely death.<\/p>\n \u201cAs a young girl, if a man impregnates you and refuses you, tell your mother or father, and they can help your prompt decision that can be better than killing the baby,\u201d Lt. Agany advised.<\/p>\n He added that the woman in custody was abandoned by the man who reportedly got her pregnant, and that forced her to think of getting rid of the baby.<\/p>\n The South Sudan Penal Code Act of 2008 stipulates that killing the baby is unlawful and is punishable in court.
