Eastern Equatoria state Advisor on economic affairs has called on women to embrace unity and peaceful coexistence, ahead of the planned 2024 elections.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n German Charles Ojok told a group of over thirty women who gathered for a two-day Political Parties Act 2012 amendment forum that they constitute a majority of the population in the country.<\/p>\n Mr. Ojok stressed the importance of women’s participation in the political arena, stating that they play a crucial role for the success of the upcoming elections.<\/p>\n The advisor also encouraged the women to reach out and share the knowledge they have acquired with their colleagues who have attended the training.<\/p>\n Mr. Ojok challenged women for often remaining silent, without sharing their knowledge, arguing that it might be less beneficial to citizens of the state.<\/p>\n Deputy speaker of Eastern Equatoria state transitional assembly, Becky Awor hailed South Sudan women’s coalition for the training.<\/p>\n She applauded the women civil society for creating awareness on the amended Political Parties Act 2022, as the country prepares for an election.<\/p>\n Awor appealed to the women’s coalition to extend more of the training to other parts of the state since acts as eye-opener for women in the counties.<\/p>\n Deputy Director for South Sudan Women Coalition,\u00a0Ambassador Jacqueline Natepi said the training aimed at equipping women on the Political Parties Act 2012 amendment 2022, on areas they can benefit.<\/p>\n Natepi urged women who plan to join diffrent political parties of their interest, to carry into their hearts, the concerns of women.<\/p>\n She reiterated that women should leave behind their political differences but endeavor to work hard in order to get their 35% to encourage them to participate and work for more.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" By Ijoo Bosco Eastern Equatoria state Advisor on economic affairs has called on women to embrace unity and peaceful coexistence, ahead of the planned 2024 elections.
