Council of Ministers passed a proposed plan for the establishment of unified vocational centers to boost capacity building.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Hon. Awut Deng Acuil, the national Minister of General Education and Instructions, tabled the proposal.<\/p>\n Government spokesperson, Michael Makuei told journalists on Friday that the proposal will play a great role in youth with skills and fight unemployment.<\/p>\n \u201cThe centers will offer the necessary trainings needed in South Sudan,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Minister Makuei said the establishment of the vocational Centers has been a strategic education policy.<\/p>\n \u201cThe proposal tabled by Minister Acuil is intended to deliver short-term trainings to help citizens generate income to improve living standards,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n According to Makuei, there are few vocational training centers offering capacity building to South Sudanese.<\/p>\n The proposal has not yet established the cost budget and how it will be executed as per the plan.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Abraham Matoch, the vice chancellor for Dr. John Garang University applauded the cabinet for the plan.<\/p>\n He said introducing more training Centers across the Country will remedy the Country’s devastating economy.<\/p>\n Matoch suggested the need for the authorities to prioritize the agricultural sector being a key area of the economy.<\/p>\n The economist noted that agricultural training centers will be crucial to fighting food insecurity and will reduce foreign dependency.<\/p>\n \u201cThe focus for those to be trained is youth that is to say the entire young population,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n He said, Dr. John Garang University of Science and Technology has established an agricultural training Center at Mingkaman.<\/p>\n The Economist said the center is aimed at equipping South Sudanese with agricultural mechanized skills.<\/p>\n According to Research Gate 2014, the government of South Sudan has a few main vocational institutions under the Ministry of General Education and Instructions.<\/p>\n Among vocational training centers are MTC Training Center, Juba Technical Secondary School, Lainya Vocational School, Torit Technical School, and Yei Vocational Training Center across the Country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" By Bida Elly David Council of Ministers passed a proposed plan for the establishment of unified vocational centers to boost capacity building.
