{"id":21192,"date":"2024-01-31T13:54:25","date_gmt":"2024-01-31T13:54:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/onecitizendaily.com\/?p=21192"},"modified":"2024-01-31T13:54:25","modified_gmt":"2024-01-31T13:54:25","slug":"budi-county-trains-72-community-police-officers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/index.php\/2024\/01\/31\/budi-county-trains-72-community-police-officers\/","title":{"rendered":"Budi County trains 72 Community Police officers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By Jino Wilson<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong><em>Budi County authorities of Eastern Equatoria State graduated 72 community police officers, including 66 males, 6 females, and 1 person with a disability on Tuesday.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Graduates have undergone a month-long training program to equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary to support public safety and work alongside traditional authorities.<\/p>\n<p>The 72 community police officers graduation\u00a0marks a significant boost to local security efforts.<\/p>\n<p>The program included both men and women,\u00a0promoting inclusivity and representation.<\/p>\n<p>Budi County Commissioner, Akileo Mboya highlighted the officers&#8217; role in aiding public safety,\u00a0assisting communities in healing,\u00a0and bridging the gap between communities and police forces.<\/p>\n<p>The officers will support traditional chiefs in addressing local and upholding the rule of law at the grassroots.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This force will greatly help reduce violence within the community,&#8221; said County Commissioner Mboya.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The chiefs have been having no backup in the community,\u00a0hence this force will greatly help the chiefs.&#8221; He noted.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Community policing will enhance rule of law by apprehending grassroots criminals and forwarding them to the police,\u00a0where the police will hand them over to the judiciary,&#8221; added Mboya.<\/p>\n<p>According to the commissioner the community police officers will play a vital role in working alongside communities and traditional authorities to create a safer and more peaceful environment for all.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; By Jino Wilson &nbsp; \u00a0Budi County authorities of Eastern Equatoria State graduated 72 community police officers, including 66 males, 6 females, and 1 person with a disability on Tuesday.
