A businesswoman and philanthropist, Achai Wiir has over stayed under police detention than legal required period of time, without trial.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Achai Wiir allegedly committed several offences that compelled the police to take action of arresting her over a week, ago.<\/p>\n Though the legal period of detaining a suspect in custody is 24 or 72 hours, National Police Spokesperson, Maj. Gen. Daniel Justin told No.1 Citizen Daily Newspaper that investigations into Achai Wiir case are not yet completed.<\/p>\n “It was last week when she was arrested and detained. It\u2019s now going to days since she was arrested by the police; she is still in police custody, and the investigation is ongoing,\u201d Maj. Gen. Justin told No. 1 Citizen Daily Newspaper<\/em><\/strong> on Tuesday.<\/p>\n According to the police spokesperson, the suspect is under police custody and will be taken to court after completion of the investigations but he is not certain of the duration.<\/p>\n \u201cThe case will go to court through their lawyers. The court hearing will start after the completion of the investigation because a team of police launched the investigation after her arrest,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n Despite social media unpalatable speculations against the gaudy business tycoon, the police spokesperson declined to disclose her accuser.<\/p>\n The police have preferred charges of criminal misappropriation, defamation, and assault or criminal force without provocation, against Achai Wiir, relevant with South Sudan\u2019s 2008 Penal Code.<\/p>\n \u201cShe is charged under Criminal Code; Article 246 (Criminal Misappropriation), Article 289 (Defamation), and Article 225 (Assault or Criminal Force without Provocation),\u201d the police spokesperson cited.<\/p>\n Achai Wiir came under public scrutiny after her former friend, Sora Jima, took to social media, posting videos that go viral with wild allegations of unsocial conducts.<\/p>\n It\u2019s not clear whether the police have also apprehended Sora in the scoop of investigation.<\/p>\n Who is Achai Wiir?<\/strong><\/p>\n Achai Wiir is a businesswoman and philanthropist who has given her life to support the suffering population, not only in Juba but in entire country.<\/p>\n She once donated food and non-food items to various orphanages in Juba, and in 2022 she also did the same to the flood-affected population in Mangalla Payam.<\/p>\n Achai Wiir also provided many People with Disabilities (PWDs) with wheelchairs and motorbikes for easy movement.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" By Kidega Livingstone A businesswoman and philanthropist, Achai Wiir has over stayed under police detention than legal required period of time, without trial.
