Central Equatoria State governor re-directed the Coordinator of Wonduruba Administrative Payam to redouble efforts to end violence in the area.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Emmanuel Adil Anthony gave the directive during a meeting with a team from Wonduruba, led by the coordinator Mr. Towongo Stephen Michael.<\/p>\n Three weeks ago, at least 79 civilians from Wonduruba Payam were displaced to Lainya County after clashes between government forces and holdout groups.<\/p>\n Speaking during the meeting, Governor Adil demonstrated pity for the displaced population and those who lost their loved ones during the repeated tragedies.<\/p>\n He urged coordinator Towongo and his leadership to work towards restoring total security and stability in the area by working collaboratively with all stakeholders on the ground.<\/p>\n According to the Gubernatorial Press Unit, Towongo confirmed that they briefed the leadership on numerous issues, ranging from the current status of healthcare facilities to education and the road network.<\/p>\n The dire humanitarian situation of the internally displaced persons, or IDPs, following the recent crisis in the area remains one of the challenges communicated during the meeting.<\/p>\n He also highlighted concerns about the cattle herders\u2019 issue, which is already posing a security threat in the area, and called for more robust efforts from the state leadership.<\/p>\n Early this month, the commissioner of Lainya County, Emmanuel Khamis, has urged Juba County authorities as well as the community to find solutions to the insecurity affecting Wonduruba Payam.<\/p>\n He stated that the conflict in the area had a negative impact mostly on children, women, and the elderly, saying the majority fled to his county seeking refuge.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" By Bida Elly David Central Equatoria State governor re-directed the Coordinator of Wonduruba Administrative Payam to redouble efforts to end violence in the area.
