\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Jonglei State government and partners have handed over a solar-powered water facility to community in the Uror County.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n Speaking to No.1 Citizen Daily Newspaper<\/em><\/strong>, Jonglei State Minister of Cabinet Affairs, John Samuel Manyuon said the facility is meant to supply water to an estimated 2,000 households.<\/p>\n Presiding over the function as the Acting state governor, Manyuon added that the project by the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) and partners, started early this year.<\/p>\n According to the minister, the community celebrated because they would no longer suffer from the same conditions, they were in.<\/p>\n \u201cWe went to Uror County in Jonglei State to hand over water facility constructed or installed by UNMISS,\u2019\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n \u201cThis water facility will likely be able to support 2,000 households in the area,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n He applauded the UNMISS and its partners for the great work rendered to the community.<\/p>\n He also said the water would be consumed by returnees who voluntarily came back from Ethiopia.<\/p>\n Reports indicate that Fifty-nine per cent of the population in South Sudan lacks access to safe water meaning to survive, families may be forced to drink dirty water, putting them at risk of waterborne diseases such as cholera and diarrhoea.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" By Jurugo Emmanuel Ogasto \u00a0 Jonglei State government and partners have handed over a solar-powered water facility to community in the Uror County.
