Government has beefed up security in Juba to protect lives and property during the Eid al-Fitr celebration.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n South Sudan police spokesperson Maj. General Daniel Justin disclosed deployment of organized forces in Juba City to ensure safety of lives and people\u2019s property.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have already deployed [officers], and we are now boosting security because people will be very engaged, so we also need to be engaged with them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Gen. Justin urged the public to cooperate with the forces on the ground and report any suspected criminal cases to them.<\/p>\n \u201cForces have been deployed within Juba to monitor security before and during the Eid al-Fitr celebration,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n \u201cI want to tell our Muslim community not to panic when they see forces around them,\u2019\u2019 he advised.<\/p>\n The police boss noted that criminal acts in Juba will never be tolerated and any perpetrators will be brought to book.<\/p>\n \u201cWe shall not allow insecurity, mostly by some youths, and the law will take its cost,\u2019\u2019 he added.<\/p>\n He urged the public not to relent in their usual cooperation and support in giving credible and timely information that can assist the security agencies in providing the needed security.<\/p>\n He charged all officers to discharge their duties with the utmost respect for the rule of law, assuring that the command would give them the necessary support to discharge their tasks.<\/p>\n Eid al-Fitr is\u00a0one of two major holidays celebrated by Muslims and commemorates the end of the holy month of Ramadan, in which Muslims fast daily from before dawn until sunset.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" By Jurugo Emmanuel Ogasto Government has beefed up security in Juba to protect lives and property during the Eid al-Fitr celebration.
