President Salva Kiir has directed the newly appointed minister of foreign affairs and international cooperation, Ramadan Mohamed Abdallah Goc, to be vigilant towards South Sudan’s foreign relations.<\/em><\/p>\n Kiir made the directive on Friday during the swearing-in of the new minister at the president’s office.<\/p>\n On Thursday, President Kiir issued series of decrees in which he relieved the former foreign minister, James Pitia Morgan, and tasked him with presidential diplomatic mission to the Great Lakes region.<\/p>\n The former minister was relieved alongside the undersecretary of the ministry, Ambassador Mayen Dut, who was then reappointed to head the South Sudan embassy in China, replacing Ambassador Monday Simaya Kumba.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Ambassador Monday was recalled to Juba after his relief and immediately appointed deputy foreign minister in place of his predecessor, now foreign minister, Ramadan Mohamed Abdalla Goc.<\/p>\n Mr. Goc served as deputy foreign minister before succeeding his predecessor and boss, Dr. James Pitia Morgan.<\/p>\n In a statement from the president\u2019s Facebook page, President Kiir has warned the new foreign minister against negligence, urging him to boost South Sudan’s relationship with the outside world.<\/p>\n \u201cPresident Kiir instructed the newly appointed Foreign Minister to enhance the diplomatic ties between South Sudan and its surrounding nations,\u201d the statement reads.<\/p>\n After being sworn in as minister, Goc demonstrated his commitment to serve the nation, particularly in building economic, political, and social ties with other countries.<\/p>\n \u201cGoc expressed his commitment to serving the people of South Sudan by actively working at the forefront,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n President Kiir Mayardit presided over the swearing-in ceremony of Ramadan Mohamed Abdallah Goc as the new Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on Friday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" By Bida Elly David President Salva Kiir has directed the newly appointed minister of foreign affairs and international cooperation, Ramadan Mohamed Abdallah Goc, to be vigilant towards South Sudan’s foreign relations.
