National Police Services (SSNPS) issues a strong warning to drivers in Juba City who do not allow their vehicles to be checked, at night.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Police Spokesperson, Maj. Gen. Daniel Justin told No. 1 Citizen Daily Newspaper <\/em><\/strong>closed-circuit television (CCTV) security cameras has captured several drivers refusing to stop.<\/p>\n He said the violations wouldn\u2019t be accepted regardless of the personalities or positions the drivers of those cars might be holding in the government.<\/p>\n “Recently, we have encountered a number of vehicles fleeing when they have been asked to stop,\u201d Justin stated.<\/p>\n \u201cThis puts staff at the checkpoint in significant danger, as well as other road users, as the vehicles generally drive off at excess speed.\u201d<\/p>\n The police spokesperson advised the motorists to abide by the nighttime security check.<\/p>\n \u201cSo please, when you are asked to stop, stop. It’s not worth risking the safety of everyone around you,\u201d he warned.<\/p>\n \u201cYou should expect that if you fail to stop, the police will follow up and take appropriate enforcement action.\u201d<\/p>\n Maj. Gen. Justin warned those indiscipline drivers that they were violating the rule, threatening that they would follow those defying the order and arrest them with the help of the police CCTV cameras.<\/p>\n He emphasized that security checkups help identify criminals.<\/p>\n \u201cThese improve safety for drivers, passengers, and other road users and also reduce environmental impact by ensuring that vehicles are running efficiently,” he underscored.<\/p>\n Justin also assured that security situations remain calm in the heart of Juba City.<\/p>\n Drivers have recently accused officers along highways at night of extorting money through unnecessary checkpoints along the roads.
