National Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr Jospeh Geng Akech vowed not to rest until sport becomes a catalyst of unity and social aspiration across the country.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cWe will work tirelessly to ensure that sports become a catalysis for national unity, social aspiration and economic development,\u201d said Dr. Akech during the official inauguration of Juba National Stadium.<\/p>\n \u201cAs we open the door for this beautiful stadium today, we also open doors for new era sport in South Sudan,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n He noted that the newly opened Juba stadium is not just a \u2018beautiful structure\u2019 but it is \u2018a beckon of pride and a reminder of South Sudanese obligation and determination to build peace and unity.<\/p>\n \u201cThe ministry pledges to make sure that young people have access to sports facilities across the country so that we use sport to build bridges of understanding, promote peace and unity and to empower youth to become agents of positive change,\u201d Akech continued.<\/p>\n Dr. Akech appealed to the head of state to support sports development across the country.<\/p>\n \u201cOn behalf of young people, I wish to tell you, your excellence for your unwavering commitment to supporting sports development in South Sudan,\u201d he appealed.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are building sport infrastructure to promote port across different levels of our communities,\u201d he highlighted.<\/p>\n He explained that his docket has laid plans to ensure young people benefit from sports facilities, although it is ambition, Dr. Akech stressed that this dream is achievable.<\/p>\n \u201cOur plans for sports development, maybe ambitious but are achievable, we are starting sports programs to rectify and nurture talent among young people.\u201d<\/p>\n Meanwhile, The President of the South Sudan Football Association (SSFA), Gen.
