First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar and the interim chairperson of RJMEC, Maj. Gen Charles Tai Gituai on Wednesday, discussed the implementation of the 2018 peace deal.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n According FVP\u2019s press unit, Dr. Machar and RJMEC teams mulled over the deployment of the Necessary Unified Forces, impact of Sudan war and influx of refugees and returnees creating dire humanitarian situation.<\/p>\n \u201cThe meeting discussed the 2018 revitalized agreement of the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (R-ARCSS),\u201d statement reads in part.<\/p>\n \u201cThe discussion encompassed topics on the Necessary Unified Forces (NUF); the impact the Sudan war has on South Sudan, the influx of the refugees and returnees and the humanitarian situation in the country,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n Based on Dr. Machar\u2019s press office, the duos also discussed the prospect of the conduct of 2024 general elections.<\/p>\n \u201cThe First Vice President briefed the RJMEC\u2019s interim Chairperson on the status of the agreement and the progress made so far as well as challenges facing the implementation of the agreement,\u201d partly reads the statement on FVP page.<\/p>\n Addressing the media after meeting, RJMEC boss, Gituai stated they had deliberated on the status of implementation of the revitalized peace agreement<\/p>\n \u201cWe came to share notes with H.E the first Vice president of the Republic, on the implementation of the Revitalised Agreement as well as progress and the work that has been done as far,\u201d Gituai was quoted saying.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" By Rehan Ajuet Moun First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar and the interim chairperson of RJMEC, Maj.
