{"id":26110,"date":"2024-07-01T09:16:43","date_gmt":"2024-07-01T09:16:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/onecitizendaily.com\/?p=26110"},"modified":"2024-07-01T09:16:43","modified_gmt":"2024-07-01T09:16:43","slug":"mental-health-cases-increase-amid-economic-hardship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/index.php\/2024\/07\/01\/mental-health-cases-increase-amid-economic-hardship\/","title":{"rendered":"Mental health cases increase amid economic hardship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>By James Innocent<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Mental health problems are becoming rampant in Yei River County due to the economic hardship facing citizens.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Deputy Executive Director of Yei River County, Ezibon Gale Simon revealed during a training conducted by International Organization for Migration (IOM).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMany are staying without food and accessing social needs become very difficult because there is no money and things are very expensive in the market,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He called on partners to open counseling centers to support people with psychological problems as the number keeps increasing due to food shortage.<\/p>\n<p>The training aimed at peace building with focus on giving psychosocial support to the community of Yei River County.<\/p>\n<p>Six consortium members comprised of UNMISS, FCA, Whitaker peace and development initiative, CEPO, SPEDP, IOM are involved with support from United Nations Multi Partner Trust funds.<\/p>\n<p>Government officials believe that the training will have positive impacts by offering psychological healing and bring harmony among the community.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0 By James Innocent &nbsp; Mental health problems are becoming rampant in Yei River County due to the economic hardship facing citizens.
