Ministry of Trade and Industry has introduced a new accreditation permit system for goods entering the country.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n According to a public notice seen by this outlet, Trade Minister Amb. Joseph Moun Majak stated that the accreditation permit is intended to verify the authenticity of products being imported into the markets.<\/p>\n \u201cThis accreditation permit is a policy measure instituted by our government to protect consumers and enhance the overall standard of living conditions for our citizens, who heavily rely on imported goods,\u201d said Majak.<\/p>\n \u201cAlso serves as a critical tool in regulating and verifying the authenticity and quality of products entering our market,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n He emphasised that all commodities and shipments destined for South Sudan must obtain an \u2018Accreditation Permit Certificate\u2019 before being allowed to enter into the country\u2019s market.<\/p>\n \u201cTherefore, effective immediately all commodities which are destined or exported\/shipped to the Republic of South Sudan originating from respective countries are now required to obtain an \u201cAccreditation Permit Certificate\u201d before being released for export,\u201d Majak noted.<\/p>\n According to Ministry of Trade & Industry, this would \u2018improve regulation and surveillance of goods entering South Sudan, including prevention of counterfeiting goods products.\u2019<\/p>\n \u201cIt is now mandatory for all goods to be evidenced with an \u201cAccreditation permit\u201d before they can be released into the Republic of South Sudan,\u201d the minister echoed.<\/p>\n The new system is aimed at ensuring the quality and legitimacy of goods being imported into South Sudan.<\/p>\n It comes as part of the government’s efforts to strengthen control over the flow of goods and protect consumers from counterfeit or substandard products.<\/p>\n Based on notice, the permit can be obtained through e-Government portal at www.trade.eservices.gov.ss<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" By William Madouk Ministry of Trade and Industry has introduced a new accreditation permit system for goods entering the country.
