South Sudan is preparing to resume oil exports after a four-month hiatus caused by the ongoing conflict in Sudan.<\/strong><\/p>\n The announcement was made by Foreign Minister Mohammed Abdalla Goc following a meeting with the leader of the Sudan Transitional Sovereign Council, Abdel Fattah al Burhan in Juba on Monday.<\/p>\n Goc, noted that Sudanese engineers have completed necessary repairs to the oil infrastructure, required for the resumption of oil production and export through Port Sudan.<\/p>\n He said a team of South Sudanese engineers will soon visit Khartoum to assess the readiness of the redeveloped facilities before oil export will resume.<\/p>\n The conflict in Sudan has had a significant impact on South Sudan’s economy, as disruptions in oil production and exports have led to financial losses.
