{"id":29702,"date":"2024-10-16T12:19:47","date_gmt":"2024-10-16T10:19:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/onecitizendaily.com\/?p=29702"},"modified":"2024-10-16T12:19:47","modified_gmt":"2024-10-16T10:19:47","slug":"ruweng-administrator-declares-lake-no-as-agricultural-zone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/index.php\/2024\/10\/16\/ruweng-administrator-declares-lake-no-as-agricultural-zone\/","title":{"rendered":"Ruweng Administrator declares Lake No as agricultural zone"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Yiep Joseph<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Ruweng Chief Administrator, Tiob De Monyluak, has designated Lake No County as an agricultural zone, urging every household to establish at least a farm.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In an address to residents at the Ruweng Administrative Area headquarters in Panrieng, Chief Monyluak emphasized that combating hunger requires active participation in farming activities from all community members.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the state government has identified Lake No as particularly suitable for agriculture and encouraged families to cultivate their own farms to enhance food production in the area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need to go and do farming in Lake No County, we are encouraging our civil population to go and do farming there, Lake No County is a very fertile land and is good for Agriculture and I therefore encourage our residents to go and do farming there,\u2019\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the government continue to ensure that people are engage in Agriculture to have enough food.<\/p>\n<p>The Chief Administrator acknowledged that due to the recent commitment from the farmers, local products from Ruweng Administrative Area have reached Juba markets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the Markets in Juba and in Konyo-konyo Market, we have onion called Ruweng onion, and tomatoes and therefore these should encourage you people to do more farming,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Monyluak added that the area has enough fertile land when properly and effectively used, can feed the people.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have enough fertile land and when we use it properly we shall be able to feed other areas with food,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>In his part, Simon Mijok Mijak the National Minister of Roads and Bridges called on the residents to engage in Agriculture adding that the war against hunger needs everyone&#8217;s efforts.<\/p>\n<p>He expressed that Agriculture would continue to be a solution to the ongoing economic crisis in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Mijok appealed to the residents to ensure that laziness is not tolerated in any way adding that it brings poverty to the community.<\/p>\n<p>Minister Mijok expressed that the war against hunger become a priority of the government and hence all areas across South Sudan have to take part.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the ongoing crisis in the country, the government would continue to use the little resources to ensure that farmers are empowered to ensure that produce a lot of food.<\/p>\n<p>The minister appealed to the residents and the government officials to spread messages that could encourage all the residents to take part in Agriculture.<\/p>\n<p>He appealed to the residents to take farming serous adding that it would be a solution to continue the increment of food prices.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Yiep Joseph &nbsp; Ruweng Chief Administrator, Tiob De Monyluak, has designated Lake No County as an agricultural zone, urging every household to establish at least a farm.
