Northern Bhar el Ghazal (NBGS) governor has directed the state prison service to release 79 prisoners on petty crimes.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n In his Christmas and New \ud835\udc18\ud835\udc1e\ud835\udc1a\ud835\udc2b message extended to the media, governor, \ud835\udc12\ud835\udc22\ud835\udc26\ud835\udc28\ud835\udc27 \ud835\udc0e\ud835\udc1b\ud835\udc1e\ud835\udc2b \ud835\udc0c\ud835\udc1a\ud835\udc30\ud835\udc2e\ud835\udc2d ordered juveniles, women, and elderly persons who have been in prison due to unimportant crimes, to be among those to benefit.<\/p>\n Some of the petty crimes include public drunkenness, pickpocketing, and traffic violations, among others.<\/p>\n \u201cBefore we conclude this year, I direct the prison service and other relevant authorities to release 79 prisoners in detention for committing petty crimes, including juveniles, women, and the elderly,\u201d the governor ordered.<\/p>\n The governor added that, besides freeing the victims to enjoy freedom with their loved ones, it will decongest the prison.<\/p>\n \u201cThis will help decongest the prison facilities, contain the spread of contagious diseases, and reunite them with their families in this festive season,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n He called on the residents to continue to embrace the governor and continue with service delivery.<\/p>\n \u201cI urge you to remain steadfast on this path. I have instructed the police and security agencies to ensure peaceful Christmas and New Year celebrations throughout the state, he said.<\/p>\n \u201cI would like to remind you that you are the beacon of hope for our great country.
