Western Equatoria State Governor Alfred Futuyo Karaba ratified and elevated the local administrative status of at least 18 bomas from six counties and one administrative area into Payams.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n This was stated in a State Order No. 33\/2024, Futuyo on December 23, for upgrading of the village to Boma and Boma to Payams, in the counties and Nadiangere Administrative Area.<\/p>\n The elevated bomas include Bangasu East Boma in Yambio County. Mboroko, Ngbugungi, and Landiboro Bomas in Maridi County. Bandala, Zomoi, and Dangu Bomas \u2013 Nagero County. Nabanga, Mangburu, and Nami Bomas all in Tambura County.<\/p>\n Others are, Medewu and Mbara Bomas \u2013 Mundri West County. Karikyere and M\u00e4gyiri Bomas in Mundri East County.<\/p>\n The governor also lifted to payams Kesiba, Mangondi, Nakongo, and Watiiba Bomas in Nadiangere Administrative Area.<\/p>\n This restructuring aims to decentralize administration, improve public service access, and foster more effective governance at the grassroots level.<\/p>\n County commissioners and local authorities were directed to oversee the transition and ensure its effective implementation of the order.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Gideon Juma a member of Greater Mundri Community Organization (GMCO), expressed gratitude to the Governor of Western Equatoria State for upgrading four bomas of Greater Mundri into payams, saying, it marks an significant milestone in Greater Mundri\u2019s development.<\/p>\n “I give my thanks to the governor of Western Equatoria State for the good thing he has done for us, the people of Greater Mundri, by giving us the four payams.
