President Salva Kiir has applauded Joint security operation forces for maintaining order during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n According to a statement extended to the media, Kiir, who resumed work officially on Thursday, appreciated the South Sudan People\u2019s Defense Force (SSPDF) for the excellent work that allowed citizens to celebrate peacefully in the country.<\/p>\n \u201cPresident Kiir expressed his profound appreciation to the citizens, the military, and all the regular forces for maintaining peace and order during the festive season.\u201d the statement partly read.<\/p>\n According to the statement, the head of state reiterated the need for forces to continue with such commitment in their work.<\/p>\n President Kiir, however, urged the citizens to continue with the similar cooperation and unity they showed during the festive season.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Minister of Presidential Affairs, Ambassador Chol Mawut Ajongo, revealed that the President wished the citizens a prosperous New Year and called upon the people to maintain the culture of peace and unity they had exhibited during the Christmas and New Year festivities,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n Regardless of the delay of salaries, Kiir called on government employees to remain dedicated and focused in delivering essential services to the people.<\/p>\n Kiir reiterated his commitment to peace and stability across the country in 2025.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Head of State reaffirmed his commitment to furthering efforts to restore peace and stability across the country throughout 2025,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n To ensure a peaceful celebration of New Year 2025, the South Sudan People\u2019s Defense Forces (SSPDF) warned the public and security forces to refrain from celebratory gunfire.<\/p>\n Chief of Defense Forces Gen. Paul Nang Majok said that those who disregard this warning will face severe penalties.<\/p>\n Gen.
