Embassy of Canada in South Sudan has announced an increase in its humanitarian assistance to address the escalating crisis stemming from the ongoing conflict in Sudan.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n In a statement, the Canadian Embassy revealed an additional One million Canadian Dollars ($1 million) in funding allocated to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).<\/p>\n This contribution will directly support the ICRC’s critical efforts in assisting the influx of over 40,000 Sudanese refugees who have recently crossed the border into Renk County, Upper Nile State.<\/p>\n This latest aid package builds upon Canada’s existing commitment to supporting humanitarian efforts in South Sudan.<\/p>\n This funding will help provide immediate life-saving assistance including the installation of tents and WASH facilities and provision of emergency medical services to the affected population.<\/p>\n This allocation is part of more than $103.7 million in humanitarian assistance funding that Canada has dedicated in 2024 to respond to needs in Sudan and neighbouring countries affected by the ongoing crisis, including South Sudan.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" By Staff writer Embassy of Canada in South Sudan has announced an increase in its humanitarian assistance to address the escalating crisis stemming from the ongoing conflict in Sudan.
