South Sudan Kickboxing Federation (SSKF) hosted a successful fundraising event on Saturday at its headquarters in Juba.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n The Federation is garnering support for the country’s upcoming participation in the scheduled March 4 to 18, World Muay Thai Championship.<\/p>\n During the event, federation president Puro Okello Obob praised the generous contributions from supporters and expressed confidence in his team’s ability to represent South Sudan on the global stage.<\/p>\n \u201cWith kickboxing and Muay Thai, we are delivering a powerful message to the world that South Sudan is a country of hospitality and tourism,\u201d he emphasized. \u201cWe are brothers and sisters in sports, and through our efforts, we can promote a peaceful South Sudan and a unified world.\u201d<\/p>\n In a show of solidarity, Benjamin Omolo, the federation\u2019s information secretary, reported that they have successfully raised $8,000, nearly reaching their target of $8,600.<\/p>\n This funding will help cover essential expenses, including travel tickets, visa processing, food, and registration fees for the championship.<\/p>\n Abednego Thon, one of South Sudan’s most accomplished fighters, expressed his dedication and readiness to compete.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are prepared to represent South Sudan and bring home a positive result,\u201d he stated, embodying the spirit of determination and national pride.<\/p>\n The World Muay Thai Championship is a prestigious international competition that attracts top fighters from around the world, showcasing the sport’s rich traditions and competitive spirit.<\/p>\n South Sudan, which gained independence in 2011, has been working to establish its presence in various sports, including martial arts.<\/p>\n Muay Thai, often referred to as the “Art of Eight Limbs,” combines striking techniques using fists, elbows, knees, and shins, and it has gained popularity in South Sudan over the years.<\/p>\n The SSKF’s efforts not only promote athleticism and competition but also aim to foster a sense of community and national pride among South Sudanese citizens<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" By Manas James South Sudan Kickboxing Federation (SSKF) hosted a successful fundraising event on Saturday at its headquarters in Juba.
