The former Deputy Minister of\nInterior in the re-vitalized peace agreement, Mabior Garang, has denied reports\ncirculated over the social media that he had resigned from the Sudan People\u2019s Liberation\nMovement in Opposition (SPLM-IO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mabior, who spoke to No.1 Citizen\nNewspaper from Nairobi Kenya on Sunday, described those whom he said had\nconcocted the story, as having evil wishes towards him, wishing him to resign\nfrom the party.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAm not resigning from the party any\ntime soon,\u201d Mabior said<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 According to the letter dated 12 of July,\nMabior was quoted as having said that he had lost faith in the vision and\nprinciples of the party under the leadership of Dr. Riek Machar Teny, accusing\nDr. Machar of being a critic of nepotism and favoritism, but appointed his wife\nas minister of defense, and that he also appointed incompetent people in the\nministries of petroleum and health, citing Elizabeth Acuie, as having failed to\ncontrol the sector during the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The letter further indicated that\nMachar has failed to control the massive defections happening inside the party\nand that he has failed to ensure that the security protocols are implemented.\nThe letter concluded that Dr. Riek Machar Teny has forgotten about the values\nand objectives of the movement, and now is focused on the power to benefit\nhimself and his family. As a result the letter said, he has no longer been\nfighting for security arrangement and reform and instead is focused on\nmaintaining the status quo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The letter that was seen on social\nmedia, bearing the logo of SPLM, indicates an address of Sudan Peoples\u2019\nLiberation Movement general headquarters, but did not indicate the headquarters\nof the SPLM-IO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, No.1 citizen newspaper called\nthe press secretary in the office of the First Vice President, James Gadet Dak,\nwho clarified that Mabior had already replied on his accurate Facebook account,\nthat it was a fake account.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
