Authorities in Aweil South County, Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, have confirmed a rise to 13 cases of cholera-related deaths.<\/p>\n
Daniel Deng Deng, the acting Minister of Health in the state, said they have procured drugs for intervention.<\/p>\n
Deng stated that the cases have doubled to 13, and they have procured life-saving medical supplies, which they distributed to the county’s headquarters for further distribution to emergency centers.<\/p>\n
“We have procured drugs such as Ringer’s Lactate, Azithromycin tablets, Ciprofloxacin tablets, and gloves,” he said.<\/p>\n
The acting state minister, Mr. Daniel Deng Deng, revealed that 177 cases have been compiled as the total number of affected individuals in Aweil South County alone, with 13 deaths.<\/p>\n
He said they have assigned the county director and his staff to distribute drugs to all emergency centers, which include Panthhou, Wath-muok, and Tiar-liet.<\/p>\n
One of the residents, Abraham Deng, said the cases are still surging, as his relative died over the weekend.<\/p>\n
“My relative died on Sunday, and it is something too terrible. We are mourning now, and it is something that perplexes us,” he said.<\/p>\n
Health authorities urge local residents to be vigilant and go to the nearest centers for treatment should the signs of cholera be noticed.<\/p>\n
