{"id":36369,"date":"2025-06-07T08:30:47","date_gmt":"2025-06-07T06:30:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/onecitizendaily.com\/?p=36369"},"modified":"2025-06-07T08:30:47","modified_gmt":"2025-06-07T06:30:47","slug":"jadalla-uses-eid-to-call-for-helping-the-needy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/index.php\/2025\/06\/07\/jadalla-uses-eid-to-call-for-helping-the-needy\/","title":{"rendered":"Jadalla uses Eid to call for helping the needy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Yiep Joseph<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Central Equatoria State (CES) governor Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani has appealed to South Sudanese to draw inspiration from the spirit of Eid to strengthen bonds as one people.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In his Eid al-Adha message, Governor Jadalla emphasised unity and giving a helping hand to the vulnerable.<\/p>\n<p>Eid al-Adha is one of the most significant festivals in the Muslim calendar, commemorating the Prophet Ibrahim\u2019s (Abraham\u2019s) willingness to sacrifice his son when commanded by God.<\/p>\n<p>It\u00a0is being massively celebrated in Saudi Arabia and several other Arab countries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt a time when our state is working to consolidate durable peace, unity and stability, I urge all Citizens to draw inspiration from the spirit of Eid to strengthen our bonds as one people\u201d, Jadalla said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet us extend a helping hand to the vulnerable, share with the needy and pray for continued progress and healing in our land,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>While the country continues to face economic hardship, the governors call to help vulnerable remain in line with South Sudanese culture, although threatened by the deteriorating economic situation.<\/p>\n<p>The governor urged the public to work toward peace and mutual respect for peaceful co-existence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs families and communities come together to share in prayers and charity, let us also renew our collective commitment to peace, harmony and mutual respect,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Jadalla reiterated that the sacred festival should remind the public of the values of faith, sacrifice, compassion and unity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is time to reflect on Prophet Ibrahim\u2019s Obedience and devotion to the Almighty, a timeless lesson in humility and trust in divine will,\u201d he emphasized.<\/p>\n<p>In a separate message, South Sudan President Salva Kiir emphasized the Unity of the people.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn this blessed occasion of Eid al-Adha, I extend my warmest wishes to all Muslims in South Sudan and around the world.
