Radio Jonglei 95.9 FM is back on air a week of shutdown by National Security Services.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Last week, the National Security Services shut down Radio Jonglei 95.9 FM over songs they deemed were inciting tensions among the communities.<\/p>\n Executive Director of the radio station, Tijwog Agwet told No. 1 Citizen Newspaper that the reopening order came from Jonglei State governor, Dr. Riek Ghai.<\/p>\n \u201cThey have ordered the reopening of the radio, and that\u2019s why we are back on air now. Well, they told me that I should sit with them in Bor, and we shall be able to see how we can cooperate,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Mr. Tijwog disclosed that investigations would continue as the radio resumes delivering services to the communities.<\/p>\n \u201cThere are a lot of things the radio does, including preaching the word of peace and informing the communities,\u201d Tijwog said.<\/p>\n He added that Radio Jonglei would be ready to review some of its operational guidelines to avoid further implications for its work in the future.<\/p>\n \u201cThis will give us another opportunity to take, especially in reviewing our work. We can opt to delete songs that we see as inciting,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n This is the second time Radio Jonglei has been shut down by the National Security Services in Jonglei State regarding its operations.
