{"id":37083,"date":"2025-06-30T07:00:33","date_gmt":"2025-06-30T05:00:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/onecitizendaily.com\/?p=37083"},"modified":"2025-06-29T20:12:26","modified_gmt":"2025-06-29T18:12:26","slug":"insecurity-land-grabbing-dominate-community-discussion-with-ces-governor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/index.php\/2025\/06\/30\/insecurity-land-grabbing-dominate-community-discussion-with-ces-governor\/","title":{"rendered":"Insecurity, land grabbing dominate community discussion with CES governor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Yiep Joseph<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Rabi Mujung Emmanuel&#8217;s appointment as Central Equatoria State&#8217;s governor has been met with a welcoming reception but also calls to address escalating insecurity and rampant land grabbing are rising.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>In a celebratory mood to congratulate the new governor, the Pojulu Community leadership presented key areas that require immediate intervention.<\/p>\n<p>According to a statement from the governor&#8217;s office, the community highlighted issues of insecurity, land grabbing, and other urgent matters needing solutions from the governor and his administration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmong the key concerns presented to the governor were issues of insecurity, land grabbing, and the roaming of cattle in some villages,\u201d the statement partially read.<\/p>\n<p>Like other states in South Sudan, Central Equatoria State continues to face ongoing conflicts with land grabbers, in addition to security challenges in certain areas.<\/p>\n<p>The Pojulu Community leadership, led by Dr. Martin Elia Lomuro, a cabinet member and the community\u2019s chairperson, congratulated the newly appointed governor and urged him to address these pressing issues.<\/p>\n<p>The community delegation that interacted with the governor emphasized the need for diligence in handling critical matters.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting, community leaders delivered a heartfelt congratulatory message to H.E. Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit, who appointed the new governor, Mujung.<\/p>\n<p>After the meeting, Mr. Lole Laila Lole, the Deputy Chairperson of the Pojulu Community, expressed gratitude to the governor for taking the time to engage with the community&#8217;s leadership.<\/p>\n<p>He described the meeting as productive and assured the governor of the Pojulu community\u2019s unwavering support.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur intention is to stand with the governor as our leader of Central Equatoria State and to convey our message through the chairperson of our community,\u201d said Laila.<\/p>\n<p>In response to the community&#8217;s concerns, Governor Mujung reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with all communities in the state to address public issues.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasized the importance of collective efforts between the government and communities in fostering peace, security, and development across the state.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Yiep Joseph &nbsp; Rabi Mujung Emmanuel&#8217;s appointment as Central Equatoria State&#8217;s governor has been met with a welcoming reception but also calls to address escalating insecurity and rampant land grabbing are rising.
