{"id":37266,"date":"2025-07-07T04:00:41","date_gmt":"2025-07-07T02:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/onecitizendaily.com\/?p=37266"},"modified":"2025-07-06T21:00:23","modified_gmt":"2025-07-06T19:00:23","slug":"pray-for-peace-ces-governor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/07\/pray-for-peace-ces-governor\/","title":{"rendered":"Pray for peace- CES governor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Yiep Joseph<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Central Equatoria State governor, Rabi Mujung Emmanuel has called on Christians to continue to pray for peace and unity.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to a statement from the governor\u2019s press unit, Rabi made the call on Sunday while addressing congregants at All Saints Cathedral.<\/p>\n<p>The governor urged the congregation to be peace ambassadors, adding that the president had tasked him to ensure peace and unity in the state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI call upon all of you to continue praying for these noble goals\u2014peace, security, and unity\u2014to prevail in Central Equatoria State and across South Sudan,\u201d Rabi said.<\/p>\n<p>The governor reiterated his call for cooperation and urged the members to support government and its program.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI urge you to support the government\u2019s programs. This task requires collective efforts,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>He affirmed commitment toward peace and stability and urged the Church, youth, women, and intellectuals to join him for it to be achieved.<\/p>\n<p>In June, South Sudan Council of Churches (SSCC) declared 70 days of prayers starting on the 10th of June and ending on the 18th of August this year.<\/p>\n<p>The Council of Churches in collaboration with Intercessors for South Sudan (IFSS), Prayer Network for South Sudan (PN4SS), and South Sudan National Renewal in Christ (SSNRC) called on all Christians to pray and fast for South Sudan for 70 days.<\/p>\n<p>Under the theme \u201cfulfill your good promises, oh Lord,\u201d citing Jeremiah 29:10\u201311that \u201cthe called are to pray continually but also strategically,\u201d the Council of Churches invites Christians.<\/p>\n<p>In a press release extended to media, the Council of Churches observed that 18th August, 2025, marks 70 years since Sudan in 1955 experienced its first war outbreak, the Torit Uprising in the present Eastern Equatoria State.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is what the Lord says,\u201d Rt. Rev. Tut Kony Nyang Kon, undersecretary of SSCC, said, quoting Jeremiah 29:10 NIV, that \u201cwhen seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my good promise to bring you back to this place.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, the undersecretary noted that during the twenty-one years of protracted civil war and after independence, the region has been yearning for peace.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis kind can come out only by prayers,\u201d Kon noted, referring to the prevalence of peace.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Yiep Joseph &nbsp; Central Equatoria State governor, Rabi Mujung Emmanuel has called on Christians to continue to pray for peace and unity.
