In a country like ours, we\u2019ve long grown used to being raw materials for international headlines.<\/em><\/strong> And recently\u2026 a new story made its way to the headlines. The deportation of several South Sudanese nationals from the United States. Nothing new about it \u2014 people return to their homelands. But as always, the story is in the details.<\/p>\n Some of these young men fled from the fires of war \u2014 not because they craved pizza and mayonnaise, but because villages burned, dreams dissolved, and the future in Sudan at the time was little more than a bad, heavy-handed joke.<\/p>\n Some of them studied. Some worked.<\/p>\n Some now support families in South Sudan, building homes and sponsoring the education of thousands of relatives and neighbors.<\/p>\n And some, unfortunately, never completed their paperwork for American citizenship because they were pulled into the violence of rap culture and street gangs \u2014 whose music, by the way, still stumbles the feet of reckless teenagers in the streets of Juba. But America\u2026 the land of unforgiving records, does not easily pardon. A simple traffic violation can ruin your life there.<\/p>\n While here, men with criminal records sit comfortably in top positions.<\/p>\n As expected, the human rights organizations \u2014 those sentimental marketplaces of noble feelings \u2014 objected: \u201cWe refuse to deport these individuals to South Sudan due to the deteriorating security conditions.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n We know how these organizations play their trade. They cry at conferences, collect donations, then celebrate at Boulevard Cafe.<\/p>\n The suffering of these people has become a thriving commodity.<\/p>\n Ladies and gentlemen\u2026We\u2019ve never pretended to be Switzerland.<\/p>\n But the question remains: these are our young men \u2014 what do you propose?<\/p>\n Should they remain suspended between heaven and earth? The answer is clear: no.<\/strong> What we categorically reject \u2014 and will not bargain over \u2014 is South Sudan becoming a dumping ground for every foreign convict and international rapist America wants to discard. So, if America wants to deport foreign criminals to us \u2014 let it be on our terms<\/strong>:<\/p>\n Without that\u2026 America can keep its garbage.<\/p>\n How can a country receive hardened street criminals from America while its police still wrestle with Unknown Gunmen armed with sticks and old rifles?<\/p>\n How can any nation ensure safety and order with one hand tied behind its back?<\/p>\n In the end\u2026 We hold no hatred toward anyone.<\/p>\n We are neither anti-humanitarian, nor pro-chaos.<\/p>\n We simply want a country with dignity \u2014 a nation that cannot be blackmailed, not even by America.
