\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n President Salva Kiir Mayardit has vowed to remove greedy officials pave way for socio-economic growth.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cOur economy has struggled, and we are taking action; we are strengthening our systems; we are removing those who put their self-interest before the country,\u201d Kiir said.<\/p>\n The President\u2019s revelation is contained in his address to the Nation on the occasion of the 14th independence anniversary.<\/p>\n President Kiir assured the nation on investment in roads, agriculture and energy among others to boost development as well as improve livelihoods.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are investing in agriculture, roads, energy, and education, we are building a future where a farmer feeds the nation. This economy must be built to serve every citizen in every corner of this nation\u201d the president said.<\/p>\n The Head of State also reminded the nation of the ongoing nationwide ceasefire, which reflects the coalition government\u2019s commitment to peace through the unification of forces.<\/p>\n \u201cOur people deserve to live without fear; Revitalize Peace Agreement is our bridge to the future. We will implement it; we will unify our forces. We will have a peaceful, credible election, and we will not go back to war\u201d Kiir emphasized<\/p>\n Kiir urged South Sudanese to reconcile and work together to build a nation that embraces its diverse cultures.<\/p>\n He highlighted that it is a time South Sudan is proud to be a member of the global community an remain committed to fostering strong partnerships across Africa and the world.<\/p>\n \u201cWe seek cooperation, not confrontation. Integration, not isolation\u201d the head of state emphasized.<\/p>\n He urged the youth to rise above tribalism and say no to violence adding the youth are the future of the nation.<\/p>\n \u201cUse your strength to build, not to destroy. I have asked my government to empower you, to provide you with the tools that you need to grow. But you must dedicate yourself to building this country, not with violence, but with knowledge and hard work\u201d Kiir said.<\/p>\n He further commended young people to proudly proclaim, \u201cI am South Sudanese and I love my country.<\/p>\n \u201cLet us rise in unity. Because when South Sudan stands united, no force on earth can bring us down.
