At least four hundred pupils from St. Charles Lwanga primary school in Morobo County will benefit from the school uniform material donated by the County commissioner in an effort to support education and foster inclusivity.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Speaking to No. 1 Citizen Newspaper on Tuesday, Morobo County commissioner, Charles Data Bullen said it was a personal donation to help vulnerable children who couldn\u2019t afford to buy school uniforms.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are three rolls which is seventy-five meters, it will benefit about four hundred only, for shirts\u201d Data said<\/p>\n

The commissioner said that the donation would not be enough however he reaffirmed government commitment toward free and affordable Education.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will not be enough for eight hundred pupils, may take half of the numbers. Just according to their measurement,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The school serves over 800 pupils, majority of whom are returnees and internally displaced persons (IDPs).<\/p>\n

However, during a brief handover ceremony at the school ground, the commissioner emphasized the importance of education in the county\u2019s recovery and long-term development.<\/p>\n

\u201cChildren are the future of Morobo,\u201d said Commissioner Data. \u201cProviding them with school uniforms is one way of showing them that they are valued and entitled to quality education, no matter their background,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Parents and school administrators welcomed the donation, describing it as timely and impactful as many families in the area still grapple with the economic fallout of prolonged conflict and displacement. Most families often struggling to meet even the most basic educational needs.<\/p>\n

The gesture was praised by local leaders as well as education stakeholders and also appealed to humanitarian organizations and government partners to complement such efforts in rebuilding the county\u2019s education sector.<\/p>\n
