Stakeholders at the Central Equatoria State, revenue-generating institutions attended a workshop convened by governor Mujung on Friday.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n The one-day refresher workshop moderated by Justice Ajonye Perpetua and Counsel Wani Mathias, is aimed at improving intra-governmental coordination and streamline revenue administration.<\/p>\n The workshop brought together senior state officials including the State Economic Advisor, Ministers, heads of revenue bodies, and representatives from Juba County and Juba City Council and focused on navigating the complex intergovernmental relationships and resolving persistent challenges in the political economy of the State.<\/p>\n Governor Mujung highlighted the urgency of reforming revenue oversight and clarifying institutional roles.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have experienced overlapping roles and responsibilities between the National and State governments, particularly in matters of tax collection,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Governor Mujung also confirmed that the state has taken steps to address revenue and tax collection challenges.<\/p>\n \u201cA committee has been formed to develop workable solutions and to examine the legal and logical position of the State. Through your experiences and legal interpretations regarding revenue and tax collection, we will be able to address these issues effectively,\u201d Mujung said.<\/p>\n State Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Lupai Satimon, echoed the Governor\u2019s position, saying the workshop was intended to reinforce institutional synergy. \u201cThis workshop aimed to strengthen and guide the State committee formed to address inter-governmental linkages in revenue administration,\u201d Satimon noted.<\/p>\n The committee\u2019s recommendations are expected to inform future reforms that align local governance with national policy, enhance fiscal transparency, and boost domestic revenue for development initiatives.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" By Alan Clement Stakeholders at the Central Equatoria State, revenue-generating institutions attended a workshop convened by governor Mujung on Friday.
