Bol Wek Agoth, has expressed commitment to collaborate with the State Ministry of Health, development partners, and Tonj hospital\u2019s administration to facilitate upgrading.<\/p>\n<p>He made the pledge during an inspection of Tonj Civil Hospital on July 28<sup>th<\/sup>, 2025, intended to assess the hospital\u2019s operational state and seek to address the challenges facing healthcare delivery in the area.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Agoth lauded the dedication and immense efforts of the healthcare workers at the facility whom he acknowledged are working under difficult conditions. \u201cThe doctors and staff are doing tremendous work under frustrating circumstances to save lives,\u201d he noted while touring the facility.<\/p>\n<p>The governor\u2019s visit which also included State Advisors, cabinet members including Abak Yel Madoot, Minister of Health, and the Commissioner of Tonj South County underscores magnitude and commitment of the government to urgently improve the health system in the region.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the facility, Wek reiterated the need to prioritize peace so that more resources can be channeled toward growth and development. \u201cAddressing insecurity is very expensive, let us all work for peace because the resources that are spent on security tours should be used to modernize facilities such as Tonj Civil Hospital or carry out other development initiatives,\u201d he emphasized.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, President Salva Kiir Mayardit declared a State of Emergency in Warrap State and Mayom county of Unity State as a result of escalating intercommunal violence, particularly in Tonj East, where civilians were killed in late May.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Alan Clement Warrap State governor, Amb.
