{"id":38418,"date":"2025-08-07T11:03:15","date_gmt":"2025-08-07T09:03:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/?p=38418"},"modified":"2025-08-07T11:03:15","modified_gmt":"2025-08-07T09:03:15","slug":"health-facilities-in-aweil-south-county-run-out-of-medical-supplies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/index.php\/2025\/08\/07\/health-facilities-in-aweil-south-county-run-out-of-medical-supplies\/","title":{"rendered":"Health facilities in Aweil South County run out of medical supplies"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_38420\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-38420\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-38420\" src=\"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/drurrrr-300x115.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"115\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/drurrrr-300x115.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/drurrrr.jpg 626w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-38420\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Medical drugs at a drug store (photo: courtesy)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong><em>By Hou Akot Hou <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Medical officer at Panthou hospital in Aweil South County\u00a0 \u00a0has said the health facilities were critically affected by shortage of essential drugs more especially for malaria treatment.<\/p>\n<p>According to Samuel Atem Amet the in charge at the hospital said that they were previously given the consignment of drugs since May this year.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that currently, the hospital is lacking medical supplies more especially for malaria treatment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe facilities were given supplies in May and stocks have run out in all facilities. &#8221;here at Panthou hospital we never have drugs for treating malaria, As we are lacking the drugs\u201d said Atem<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe do prescription to all the patients whenever they come to the hospital and we diagnosis and send them to go and buy in the pharmacists in the market as we can\u2019t do anything any longer\u201d he cautioned.<\/p>\n<p>He urged patients to bear with the conditions as the had requested the health partners and the health ministry to rescue the situation.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Abuk Garang who is a patient at the hospital expressed pessimism as they long for treatment in the pharmacists, stating it required a serious intervention from concerned authorities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are more incapacitated, since we came to the hospital, we are just being sent out to go and get in the market, it would be great if the ministry officials intervene\u201d Ms. Abuk said.<\/p>\n<p>Northern Bahr El Gazal state\u2019s Health Ministry official who declined to revealed his name said they were going to collaborate with the partners such as World Health Organizations, GAVI and UNICEF in order to restock the health facilities by giving consignment.<\/p>\n<p>It remains unclear when would that be sent out as an intervention to all health facilities which had reported a high surge of cases among children and adults in complications of malaria, pneumonia and diarrhoae as a result of the rainy season.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Hou Akot Hou Medical officer at Panthou hospital in Aweil South County\u00a0 \u00a0has said the health facilities were critically affected by shortage of essential drugs more especially for malaria treatment.
