\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>The South Sudan Civil Aviation Authority (SSAA) yesterday called on the public to cease following unverified information regarding the sector.<\/p>\n

The call followed the recent public criticism after SSAA made internal changes.<\/p>\n

The changes include the relief of the general manager of Juba International Airport (JIA) and its subsequent appointment to another position.<\/p>\n

According to the SSAA, the relieved JIA manager was reassigned to a higher position; however, some members of the public doubted the transfer, citing that it came at a time when they were making progress.<\/p>\n

Addressing the media on Friday, David Loputo Paulino, the manager for public relations and communication at the South Sudan Civil Aviation Authority (SSAA), urged the members of the public to adhere to verified information.<\/p>\n

Acknowledged the role of the mainstream media and called for continued cooperation between the media and the authorities.<\/p>\n

He urged the media institution to focus on verified information for publication, whether from his office or any other authorized offices within SSAA.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wish to remind all the media houses and the communication outlets that any information attributed to the South Sudan Civil Aviation Authority must first be verified and authorized,\u201d he said while reading the statement.<\/p>\n

He emphasized that journalists should check clarification through the official communication channels, including the Director General of the South Sudan Civil Liberation Authority and the Public Relations Office and Communications.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe premature release of unverified or unofficial information not only risks spreading misinformation but also undermines public trust and can interfere with ongoing operations or processes,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

However, in line with best practice and responsibility, journalists and the media houses were urged to seek verification from the SSCAA authorities\u2019 communication office.<\/p>\n

It also emphasized that the media house should direct any inquiries to the Public Relations and Communications Office of the South Sudan Civil Aviation Authority.<\/p>\n

The statement further underscored that the South Sudan Civil Aviation Authority remains committed to transparency, accountability, and cooperation with the media houses.<\/p>\n
