Some of us have now stayed home for a week because the roadblocks are making business impossible,\u201d Mambo said.<\/p>\n<p>The drivers have appealed to the Commissioner of Yei River County, Emmanuel Taban Seme, to intervene and engage the relevant authorities.<\/p>\n<p>They warned that unless action is taken, customers may also face higher transport fares as drivers attempt to cover the extra costs.<\/p>\n<p>The Commissioner, however, acknowledged receipt of the drivers\u2019 complaints and promised to forward their concerns to higher authorities.<\/p>\n<p>He urged the drivers to remain cooperative with both citizens and government institutions, emphasizing that transportation services are vital for economic activity and community well-being.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, one of the drivers, Batali James, noted that the challenges extend beyond taxation. He highlighted the poor state of the roads, insecurity, and frequent ambushes that have in the past targeted civilians and humanitarian workers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe potholes, threats on the road, and lack of adequate security are affecting movement.
