The MTN Mobile Money (MoMo) customers haveexpressed frustration over insufficient cash to withdraw or deposit.<\/p>\n

This is as a result of the ongoing liquidity crisis facing the country.<\/p>\n

Most customers expressed that despite the call to embark on electronic transaction cash withdrawal continue to be challenge in most business areas<\/p>\n

The Divine Favor Mobile Money MOMO retailer Mrs. Mayola Deng on Wednesday at her business center has expressed frustration due to lack of cash to withdraw to the customers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe issues of mom really bring problem to us, people wanted to withdraw and not deposit the money, if have cash in hand we can serve other clients in need of cash\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no way we can give cash to needed customer or client the MOMO\u00a0 system is good but the people not using it to benefit all of us\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

She stated that most of the people wanted to withdraw and they don\u2019t to deposit ,the reason there is no cash I don\u2019t if the country experiences this crisis.<\/p>\n

\u201cI give cash to the first and the second and got finished, the third or the fourth one says I don\u2019t want to give cash while there is no money left. So, they think that we are hiding money from them\u201d she expressed.<\/p>\n

The Sawa Express Money Transfer and MOMO Agent staff. Mrs. Rose Poni said there were lots of challenges faced by the agents and the customers.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have to cooperate customers and the businesses; we are giving out money and not receiving money in cash. The most of shops stopped the use of mom payment because they can\u2019t withdraw money to buy goods\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the media, Francis Matseketsa, the Chief Executive Officer of MTN South Sudan, said they are aware of the failures of some MoMo customers to withdraw cash from the agents.<\/p>\n

He reaffirmed the telecommunication company is working with relevant stakeholders to explore solutions.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe also urge all retail outlets, merchants, and wholesalers to accept MoMo as a means of payment as they all become value chains, thus avoiding the use of cash for payments,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe expect that since the government, through the finance ministry and the Bank of South Sudan, made several pronouncements to encourage the use of electronic payments instead of cash, the public should embrace cashless transactions.\u201d he highlighted.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Magok Solomon also a MoMo customer in Bor appealed to the MTN management to have quick solution to sufficient cash.<\/p>\n

\u201cWithdraw of cash in MoMo, the use of Mobile Money in MTN network was good, it was sufficiency and easy for me to access money at any point. after sometime I special face difficulties of withdrawing cash money\u201d he emphasized.<\/p>\n

He underscored in Bor, it\u2019s easy to deposit money than withdrawal, citing that a customer cannot be able to withdraw 5,000 SSP but customers can deposit as much they can.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you go to shop to buy food items with the MoMo the shopkeepers charge you with extra money for example if you want to buy any item like with 5,000 SSP you have to deposit to their MoMo with 5,500 SSP this is also challenge to us\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
